Dear students,
To support students in difficult circumstances in covering part of their expenses for the new academic year and their university studies, the University is implementing the "Lighting up Faith" scholarship program sponsored by Public Joint Stock Commercial Bank of Vietnam (PVcombank), specifically as follows:
1. Scholarship value
Scholarship value: up to 15,000,000 VND/semester, including tuition and living expenses, specifically:
- Tuition: according to the student's tuition rate and a maximum of 12,000,000 VND/student/semester;
- Living expenses: 3,000,000 VND/student/semester.
2. Scholarship eligibility criteria
a) University admission score: students admitted to the university via the high school graduation exam score method with a score of 21 or higher (excluding priority points) and applicable to other admission methods with equivalent grading scales;
b) Family circumstances: facing particularly difficult circumstances, without sufficient financial conditions to support the student during their university studies (The Lighting up Faith Fund will visit homes and localities to verify);
c) High school academic performance: at least achieving the title of advanced student for 03 consecutive years (priority is given to excellent students for 03 consecutive years, or those who have achieved provincial/city, national, or international awards).
3. Regulations and criteria for evaluating, receiving, and maintaining the scholarship
- The scholarship is awarded per semester through the Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City Development Fund. Students are sponsored with the scholarship throughout their study duration (04 years) according to the Fund's regulations;
- Students choosing to study at institutions (majors) with tuition waivers and living expense subsidies are not eligible for the scholarship;
- Students who have not yet received full or regular scholarships from other organizations or individuals;
- After each semester, the Lighting up Faith Fund organizes interviews to re-evaluate and award scholarships for the next semester;
a) Students meeting the following conditions will continue to receive the scholarship:
- Semester GPA ≥ 7.0; no course results below the average: 100% scholarship;
- Semester GPA ≥ 7.0 but with course results below the average, or semester GPA from 6.5 to < 7.0: 80% scholarship;
- Semester GPA from 6.0 to < 6.5: 60% scholarship;
- Semester GPA below 6.0: no scholarship for that semester;
- Conduct results at the university: at least Good level;
- Results of training courses organized by the Lighting up Faith Fund (if any): must meet the requirements.
- Meet requirements in the interview for scholarship renewal. In case of failure, the Interview Council will recommend deducting the % of the scholarship or suspending the scholarship for the term; at the same time, requiring the student to commit to performance improvements in the next semester;
- In case a student does not meet the criteria to receive the scholarship for 02 consecutive semesters, the Fund's Executive Board will conduct a re-interview, consider, and make a decision (suspending the scholarship or providing an additional opportunity for improvement in the next semester);
b) Cases of scholarship suspension:
- The student voluntarily requests to stop receiving the scholarship because they have obtained a better scholarship or their living conditions have improved and they can manage on their own. Or:
- The student is disciplined, or voluntarily skips exams or drops out of school. Or:
+ The student's academic results for 02 consecutive semesters do not meet the requirements for scholarship renewal, the Executive Board makes the decision. Or:
