USSH-VNUHCM Signs a Comprehensive Cooperation Agreement with LPBank: Bridging Knowledge and Finance for Sustainable Development

On the afternoon of August 22, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (USSH- VNUHCM) signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement with Loc Phat Commercial Joint Stock Bank (LPBank). This milestone reflects the growing synergy between higher education and the financial sector, aiming to deliver practical values to learners and the wider community.
Speaking at the Ceremony, Dr. Phan Thanh Định, Vice President of USSH-VNUHCM, emphasized the university’s pioneering role in training and research in the fields of social sciences, humanities, languages, and culture. Beyond meeting domestic needs, the University is also a destination for international students, contributing to the promotion of Vietnamese culture and affirming the position of Vietnamese higher education in the global knowledge community. According to him, the collaboration with LPBank comes at the right time, as USSH is intensifying its engagement with enterprises to link academic knowledge with practical experience—expanding learning opportunities for students while strengthening scholarship and career development support.

From the business perspective, Ms. Vu Nam Huong, Deputy CEO and Head of Corporate Banking at LPBank, underlined that artificial intelligence is profoundly reshaping the financial industry. However, technology cannot replace human core values such as empathy, communication, and humanity. This shared vision has laid the foundation for LPBank’s partnership with USSH—not only as a collaborator in workforce training but also as a community rich in humanistic values and social responsibility. LPBank pledged to accompany the University in various forms: offering scholarships to students, sharing expertise in personal and corporate financial management, and contributing to education, culture, and healthcare initiatives.

This partnership not only broadens USSH’s academic horizon but also enables LPBank to realize its commitment to sustainable development through education. For USSH, it is an opportunity to reaffirm the role of social sciences and humanities in the digital era, where humanistic knowledge remains an irreplaceable core value. For LPBank, it marks a strategic step in aligning its brand with long-term humanistic values, going beyond profit-driven goals. Today’s commitments set the stage for a lasting partnership where knowledge meets finance, science connects with practice, and together they create new values for students, the community, and the nation’s development.
Founded in 2008, LPBank operates with a strong emphasis on corporate social responsibility. Over the years, the bank has established 11 scholarship funds and implemented numerous initiatives to support education, healthcare, and cultural development. Alongside offering modern banking and financial services, LPBank is oriented toward becoming a community-centered financial institution, supporting younger generations in their academic and career journeys, and contributing actively to sustainable social development.
