INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR “MENTAL HEALTH: THE JOURNEY FROM INDIVIDUAL TO ORGANIZATION” organised on October 10, 2025, by the Faculty of Psychology, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM, spread a strong message about raising awareness of mental health and culture in organisations, building a happy working environment.
Associate Professor, Dr. Luu Van Quyet, Vice Rector of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities – VNU-HCM, attended and delivered the opening speech at the Dialogue, responding to World Mental Health Day on October 10. The theme for 2025, launched by the World Health Organisation, is “Mental health in humanitarian emergencies”. This theme reminds us to focus on the urgent need to support the mental health and psychosocial needs of people affected by humanitarian crises, such as natural disasters, conflicts or epidemics. Supporting mental health in these situations not only saves lives, but also gives people the strength to cope, the quiet to heal, recover and rebuild – not only as individuals but also in the community.

The sharing article “Mental health: Sustainable competitive advantage of the organization” and the message “Be a plus point for Development Culture” by Ho Thi Bach Quyen (Winnie), Director of People & Culture of STADA Vietnam, highlighted the importance of STADA’s people-centered sustainable growth strategy, not only promoting performance but also nurturing a humanistic culture focusing on mental health and well-being of employees. Mental health and well-being are key strategies for sustainable development of STADA, a working environment where all employees strive for growth, mutual care, and innovation coexist harmoniously. At the core of STADA's philosophy and values, mental health, harmony, and sustainable growth are key factors for the long-term success of the group. The success of STADA is not only measured by financial results but also by the mutual development of individuals within the organisation.
STADA's environment and culture aim to be a place for all employees to develop and grow, where employees feel listened to, appreciated and encouraged. Recognition programs such as public “Thank You” cards reinforce positive mental health and gratitude across the entire team. The Kyan Mental Health program affirms that mental health is part of STADA’s DNA. The culture of mutual care extends beyond local borders through talent exchange between Vietnam, Europe and other regions, emphasising learning, diversity and empathy, creating innovative value for sustainable development.

In a turbulent world, mental health has become a strategic driver for organisational success. Cap Thi Minh Trang, Director of Human Resources of Schneider Electric Vietnam & Cambodia, “Mental Health: A Sustainable Competitive Advantage for Organisations”, explores how Schneider Electric builds a culture where employee care, inclusion and well-being are integral to business excellence.
Mental health is a business imperative: The pandemic has changed the global perception of mental health from “nice to have” to non-negotiable. Over the past decade, Schneider Electric has evolved from awareness-raising to fully integrating the six pillars of holistic mental health into its well-being ecosystem: mental, career, physical, family, environmental, and financial. These aspects reflect Schneider Electric’s belief that mental health thrives when every aspect of an employee’s life is valued and supported. At Schneider Electric, mental health is everyone’s responsibility, a business strategy, and a foundation for innovation and sustainable development for both employees and the company.

Dr. Nicolas Roulin shares findings from multinational studies of asynchronous video interviews (AVIs) and artificial intelligence (AI). Dr. Roulin explores the potential and pitfalls of AVI platforms, raising important questions about fairness, bias, and the psychological impact of technology-based recruitment. AVIs are revolutionising talent interviewing and are becoming a preferred method for organisations because of their speed and scalability. However, empirical research involving more than 27,000 real candidates in 11 countries has revealed potential biases in the digital age that are context- and culture-related. And generative AI tools like ChatGPT are also revolutionising talent recruitment and creating new ethical issues in people management.

The messages from speakers from multinational corporations, Ho Thi Bach Quyen, Cap Thi Minh Trang, and I/O Psychology expert Dr. Nicolas Roulin emphasised that mental health is not separate from the business success of the organisation, but mental health itself drives success. The strategies for developing an environment and organizational culture that integrates mental health and well-being of STADA and Schneider Electric Corporations are living examples of how empathy, inclusion, and a sustainable development mindset can create an organization where people not only work but also bring a positive, creative, and caring spirit – each individual contributes to a workplace where development is shared and happiness is promoted.
