On November 13, more than 80 students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (USSH, VNU-HCM), representing majors such as Information and Library Science, History, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and others, took part in the 15th “Company Tour” at CJ CGV Vietnam Co., Ltd.
Representing the University, the delegation was led by Ms. Hoang Thi Hien Thuong, MA, Deputy Head of the Office of Communications and Event Management. On the company’s side, participants included Mr. Lee Joung Kuk, Cinema Operations Director, along with senior representatives from the F&B, Marketing, and Human Resources Development departments.
The “Company Tour” is an annual program organized by the University to provide students with opportunities to explore real-world working environments at enterprises, thereby enhancing their prospects of identifying suitable career paths after graduation. During this visit to CGV, students experienced operations from both the customer perspective and the service provider’s role, gaining insights into market trends and learning how to apply academic knowledge to professional practice.

The visit attracted a large number of students participating in the program
Sharing at the event, Ms. Dong Thanh Mai, Senior Marketing Manager at CGV, emphasized: “This is not only an opportunity for you to observe cinema operations, but also a chance to ask questions and learn how we create customer experiences. What matters is that a career is not just about sitting at a desk—it is about constant adaptation and creativity. We always highlight that customer communication, product understanding, and a service mindset are core skills.” She added that by trying out small tasks firsthand, students were taking a very practical first step toward seeing themselves in the profession.

Mr. Nguyen Vu Tuan Anh expressed his hope that students would recognize professionalism and communication skills as the “golden ingredients” for success in any position
Discussing career opportunities at CGV, Ms. Nguyen Dang Bao Yen, Senior Human Resources Development Specialist, noted: “Programs like this allow us and the University to connect directly with future talent. My advice to you is to be proactive—ask questions, challenge yourselves, and remember that opportunities do not wait. Early preparation will help you stand out when entering the labor market.”

Ms. Nguyen Dang Bao Yen shared that the labor market is changing rapidly, and adaptability is just as important as academic excellence
Beyond discussions and skills-sharing sessions, students also experienced CGV’s four premium screening formats: IMAX, 4DX, Starium, and ScreenX. Each auditorium offered a distinct, cutting-edge, multi-sensory cinematic experience. The tour continued with a visit to the technical room, where students were introduced to the process of screening a film—from preparation and operation to completion. Finally, at the ticket counters and F&B areas, students practiced customer interaction, tried making popcorn, and operated POS systems, gaining a clearer understanding of real-world work in the service and entertainment industry.

Hands-on experiential activities for students as part of the program
Concluding the visit, each student gained valuable hands-on experience and a clearer perspective on future career pathways, where academic knowledge is closely linked with practice. At the same time, the program helped strengthen cooperation between the University and the enterprise, contributing to improved training quality and expanded career orientation for students.
