On November 21, the USSH, VNU-HCM welcomed a delegation from Thai Binh Duong University (Khanh Hoa) for a visit and the signing of an MoU, marking a new phase of cooperation between the two institutions in education, research, community engagement, and joint academic programs.
At the ceremony, Associate Professor Dr. Luu Van Quyet, Vice President of USSH, VNU-HCM, noted that the two universities share similar training orientations in social sciences and humanities and have strong potential for cooperation, particularly in archival and office administration, public administration, and psychology, through academic forums, research projects, publications, and faculty and student exchanges.

Dr. Nguyen Thanh Toai, Chairman of the University Council of Thai Binh Duong University, expressed his honor in partnering with one of Vietnam’s leading institutions in social sciences and humanities. He affirmed that the MoU represents the starting point of a long-term and sustainable strategic partnership, combining USSH’s long-standing academic tradition with the dynamism of Thai Binh Duong University to develop practical initiatives such as short-term training programs, exchanges, academic conferences, and shared learning resources.

During the discussion, both sides agreed on cooperation activities that could be implemented immediately. Dr. Nguyen Van Bau, Dean of the Faculty of Archival Studies and Office Administration, affirmed the faculty’s capacity to jointly provide training and certificate programs in records management, archival studies, and office administration, with plans to expand in Ho Chi Minh City and the Central region.

From a training management perspective, Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ha, Deputy Head of the Office of Academic Affairs, noted strong training demand in Khanh Hoa Province, creating favorable conditions for short-term programs, distance learning, and enterprise-oriented training. Meanwhile, Dr. Hoang Thi Trang, Deputy Head of the Office of External Relations and Scientific Research Management, highlighted cooperation potential in scientific research, academic conferences, faculty exchanges, and joint publications.

Representing Thai Binh Duong University, Vice President Le Anh Van highlighted strong compatibility between the two institutions in Law, Public Administration, and Language and Cultural Studies, enabling course mapping, credit recognition, and joint course delivery, while noting existing academic links between the two universities.

Under the MoU, USSH and Thai Binh Duong University agreed to prioritize short-term training programs in areas of shared strength, promote faculty and student exchanges, conduct joint research and academic events, and share academic publications and learning resources. The MoU is valid for five years and will be automatically renewed for an additional five years upon mutual agreement.

Founded in 2008 in Nha Trang, Thai Binh Duong University is a private, application-oriented institution with over 3,000 students and more than 100 full-time lecturers.
