Vietnam–China Youth Friendship Exchange 2025: “Youth Jointly Witness, Cultural Heritage Inheritance”
On the afternoon of December 8, the Vietnam–China Youth Friendship Exchange 2025 Opening Ceremony, themed “Youth Jointly Witness, Cultural Heritage Inheritance,” was successfully held at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH), Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM). The event was organized in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China, contributing to the promotion of cooperation and sustainable development between the two nations.
Attending the program on behalf of the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Ho Chi Minh City were Mr. Xu Zhou and Vice Consuls. Representing Guangxi Normal University, China, were Mr. Fan Wenji, Deputy Head of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchanges; Ms. Jiang Lilin, Deputy Head of the Office of Graduate Affairs; as well as delegates and students.
From USSH-VNUHCM, representatives included Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Van Quyet, Vice President of the University; representatives of the Office of External Relations and Research Affairs, the Office of Administrative Affairs, the Center for International Education, the Faculty of Chinese Linguistics and Literature, together with lecturers and students.

His opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Van Quyet highlighted the achievements of cooperation between USSH-VNUHCM and Guangxi Normal University across education, culture, and related fields. He emphasized that “the program serves as a meaningful bridge, fostering mutual understanding, cultural exchange, and the strengthening of enduring friendship between Vietnamese and Chinese youth.”

In response to the University, Mr. Xu Zhou expressed his appreciation for the warm reception by the University and conveyed his confidence in the younger generation of both countries—those who share aspirations for learning, dedication, and cooperation in the pursuit of peace and common development in the region.
Continuing the ceremony, Ms. Jiang Lilin shared her enthusiasm upon witnessing the dynamism, openness, and friendliness of Vietnamese students. She affirmed that “youth represent the future of every nation. The solidarity and cooperation fostered among students today will form a solid foundation for friendship and sustainable development between our two countries in the future.”

Within the program framework, student representatives from both universities presented overviews of their institutions’ histories, missions, and key achievements. With a shared educational philosophy and a friendship nurtured since 2021, the two universities have contributed to strengthening the broader diplomatic ties between Vietnam and China.

The event featured a vibrant series of activities, including cultural performances, hands-on cultural experiences, and interactive games. Carefully choreographed performances blended traditional and modern elements—from Vietnamese folk dances to well-known Chinese songs—creating an energetic, engaging, and friendly atmosphere.

At the conclusion of the program, representatives of both universities expressed their desire to continue and expand Vietnam–China student exchange activities in the coming years, particularly in research, training, culture, and innovative entrepreneurship. The event not only reaffirmed the strong educational partnership between USSH, VNUHCM and Guangxi Normal University, but also contributed to strengthening the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.
