On the morning of January 14, 2025, at the Sai Gon campus – University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM, the Faculty of Psychology, in collaboration with the Office of External Relations and Research Management, successfully organized an academic exchange on the topic of LGBTQ+. The event welcomed a delegation of faculty and students from the United States under the Semester at Sea program to discuss and share insights on gender diversity from various perspectives.
The exchange featured keynote speakers including Dr. Le Nguyen Anh Khoi from the Faculty of Psychology, alongside Professor Stepanka Magstadova and 08 international students from the U.S. participating in the Semester at Sea program.
The program provided an open and multi-dimensional space for discussion centered on:
- Identity and diversity within the LGBTQ+ community.
- LGBTQ+ rights advocacy movements within cultural contexts.
- The current status and level of integration of the local LGBTQ+ community.
Through the speakers' presentations and direct discussions with students, the program not only expanded academic perspectives but also contributed to raising awareness, understanding, and respect for gender diversity in modern society.
The exchange concluded with many meaningful discussions, leaving a profound impression on all participants and reaffirming the vital role of intercultural dialogue within the university environment.
