On the afternoon of February 26th, at the Office of the Faculty of Oriental Studies – Japanese Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan – Dean of the Faculty, held a meeting with Dr. Kim Kyu – Principal of Saigon Korean School, and Dr. Nguyen Thanh Phat – Principal of Bac Son Secondary and High School, to discuss future academic cooperation orientations.
At the meeting, the parties discussed various practical cooperation contents, aiming to strengthen international connections and develop interdisciplinary training in the field of Asian Studies. Key discussion points included building programs for students and postgraduate learners to participate in practical internships in international environments; promoting comparative research projects on Northeast Asian culture; and organizing thematic reports, short-term teaching modules, as well as inviting experts to participate in master's thesis defense committees related to Asian Studies and Oriental Studies.
The parties also emphasized linking training and research activities with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), and initiatives to promote cross-cultural academic exchange in the context of East Asian – Southeast Asian regional integration.
The discussion took place in an open and professional atmosphere, opening up many prospects for long-term cooperation between academic partners, contributing to improving the quality of training, research, and internationalization of the Faculty of Oriental Studies – Japanese Studies' programs in the new phase.
