The conference reviewing AsTEN’s activities in 2025 and outlining the action plan for 2026 was held to comprehensively evaluate the University’s performance in its role as Chair and founding member of the network, while identifying key priorities for the next phase. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Lê Hoàng Dũng, Vice President of the University and Deputy Head of the AsTEN Executive Board, with the participation of Executive Board members.

At the conference, Executive Board members presented reports on the implementation of activities in 2025, focusing on academic development, training, publishing, and international cooperation. Notable outcomes included progress in scientific publications, the development of the AsTEN book collection, and the organization of international exchange and experiential programs for students, contributing to improved academic capacity and global engagement.

During the discussion session, Executive Board members exchanged views on the implementation of programs in 2025, particularly the effectiveness of academic activities, coordination among member institutions, mechanisms for international exchanges, and available resources. Several proposals were raised to enhance the quality of activities, deepen partnerships, and ensure the sustainability of future initiatives.

In his remarks, Dr. Le Hoang Dung acknowledged the efforts of the AsTEN Executive Board in maintaining cooperative activities despite challenges. He also emphasized the need to strengthen academic depth, standardize procedures for international exchange programs, and improve coordination among member units.

Regarding the 2026 action plan, the Executive Board will prioritize strengthening academic and research activities, standardizing international exchange and experiential programs, and expanding partnerships within and beyond the region. The University will also enhance connections among member institutions and promote the sustainability of joint education and research initiatives.

The conference concluded with consensus among Executive Board members on the direction for implementing AsTEN’s activities in 2026, focusing on improving activity quality, expanding cooperation, and strengthening coordination across the network.

AsTEN (ASEAN Teacher Education Network) is a regional network that promotes cooperation in teacher education, educational research, and academic exchange among higher education institutions in Southeast Asia, aiming to enhance training quality and develop shared academic initiatives.

The University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City (USSH-VNUHCM) is a founding member of AsTEN and actively participates in the network’s initiatives, including international conferences, academic exchanges, collaborative research, and international learning opportunities for students and lecturers.

For the 2024–2027 term, the University serves as Chair of AsTEN, contributing to coordinating network activities and strengthening regional cooperation in teacher education.
