On March 8, the USSH-VNUHCM took part in the 2026 Admission and Career Guidance Fair held at Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and organized by Tuoi Tre Newspaper, drawing strong interest from students and parents.

Speaking at the main consultation stage, Dr. Pham Tan Ha, Director of the Admissions Counseling Center, highlighted key changes in this year’s admission process. He advised students to prepare carefully and balance their efforts across both the VNUHCM Competency Assessment and the National High School Graduation Exam to maximize admission opportunities.

At the University’s consultation booth, Mr. Nguyen Van Hiep (MA), Vice Dean of the Faculty of Information and Management, noted a shift in student mindset: beyond scores, many candidates are now more focused on long-term development pathways. Most questions revolved around program content, learning outcomes, and especially career prospects after graduation.

For the 2026 intake, USSH-VNUHCM is expected to apply two admission methods:

Method 1: Direct admission in accordance with regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training.

Method 2: Holistic admission based on multiple criteria, including: Results of the 2026 National High School Exam (w1); Results of the 2026 VNUHCM Competency Assessment (w2); High school academic performance over three years (w3); Achievements in academics, social, cultural, sports, and extracurricular activities; and International language certificate.

  • General formula:

Admission Score = w1 + w2 + w3 + bonus points + priority points

Where:

  • w1 = 45% (highest total score of three subjects in a chosen combination from the National High School Exam)
  • w2 = 45% (higher score from two VNUHCM Competency Assessment test attempts)
  • w3 = 10% (average academic results over Grades 10–12 based on relevant subject combinations)
