Within the framework of the Urban Culture course for graduate students majoring in Urban Studies and Asian Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan - Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies - Japanese Studies invited Feng Shui expert Tan Fath to share a specialized topic on the application of Feng Shui science as a cultural practice in organizing and arranging living spaces.

During the session, Master Tan Fath approached Feng Shui not only as a system of traditional knowledge but also as a cultural – indigenous knowledge system capable of adapting to the modern urban context. The presentation focused on analyzing how humans create living spaces that are harmonious among natural, social, and psychological factors through principles of layout, orientation, and optimizing energy flow in living and working environments.

In particular, the sharing session opened up an interdisciplinary perspective between cultural anthropology, architecture, and urban planning, thereby helping students gain a deeper awareness of the role of cultural practices in improving the quality of urban life, aiming towards sustainable development goals.
The activity not only contributed to enriching the course content but also created an open academic exchange space, connecting traditional knowledge and contemporary applications in the context of urbanization and international integration.
