
On April 11, the Viet Nam National Union of Students of USSH-VNUHCM hosted the regional final of the “Gam Voc Non Song 2026” competition. The event created an academic space for students to engage in dialogue and promote Vietnamese cultural values in the digital era. The regional final brought together six outstanding contestants: Le Huy, Ngo Tuan Kiet, Tran Nguyen Bao Di, Tran Trinh Khanh Vi, Nguyen Ngoc Bao, and Le Ngoc Vy – selected from more than 600 participants across faculties. Contestants competed in four rounds: Introduction, Knowledge, Debate, and Performance. Beyond demonstrating their understanding of Resolution 80 on cultural development and foundational knowledge of Vietnamese culture, participants also presented original perspectives on digital culture.

After three intense rounds, the top two contestants advanced to the final Performance round, where they responded directly to questions from the judging panel. Their sharp thinking and confident delivery highlighted a strong sense of responsibility among young people in preserving and promoting a progressive Vietnamese culture rooted in national identity.

Following four competitive rounds, Nguyen Ngoc Bao (Faculty of History and International Relations) was crowned champion of “Gam Voc Non Song 2026.” Tran Nguyen Bao Di (Faculty of Journalism and Communication) won second prize, while the remaining four contestants received consolation awards in recognition of their efforts and creativity. The top three contestants: Nguyen Ngoc Bao, Tran Nguyen Bao Di, and Tran Trinh Khanh Vi will advance to the national final on April 21.

In the final round, when asked to describe Vietnamese culture in one keyword, champion Nguyen Ngoc Bao defined it as “aspiration for growth.” He emphasized that young people must recognize culture as a vital internal resource, expressing confidence in a vibrant cultural future aligned with the nation’s development goals toward 2045.

The “Gam Voc Non Song 2026” competition aims to strengthen students’ cultural awareness and critical thinking through practice-oriented content. The event also lays the groundwork for future cultural initiatives at USSH-VNUHCM. While the competition has concluded, the cultural narrative it fosters continues, empowering students to carry forward and enrich Vietnam’s cultural legacy.
