International Scientific Seminar | Diplomacy in Practice: Perspectives from Pakistan in a Changing International Order

In a world undergoing profound transformation, where strategic competition, regional conflicts, and shifts in power are accelerating, diplomacy is no longer just a bridge between nations, but has become the art of leading, adapting, and creating positions within a volatile international environment.

Therefore, understanding diplomacy from a practical perspective is not only an academic need but also the key to decoding the major movements of the era.

Against the backdrop of constant unpredictable changes in international relations, especially with the tense developments in the Middle East, many big questions are being raised for students, young scholars, and those interested in the contemporary world:

  • How do countries adjust their foreign policies to adapt to the rapidly changing global political and security environment?
  • What qualities, courage, and capabilities does a professional diplomat need to promote dialogue, cooperation, and maintain positive relations between nations?

In order to reflect together and find solutions to these issues deeply marked by the era, this International Scientific Seminar is honored to welcome a special guest:

H.E. KOHDAYAR MARRI - AMBASSADOR EXTRAORDINARY AND PLENIPOTENTIARY OF PAKISTAN TO VIETNAM

Kohdayar Marri is a diplomat with a special and inspiring professional journey. Hailing from the prestigious Marri tribe in Balochistan, Pakistan, he graduated with a degree in Architecture & Design from Oxford Brookes University (UK) and also holds a diploma in European Cinema.

Before entering the diplomatic field, he worked for 5 years as an architect and had over two decades of extensive activities in design, photography, and film. Not only leaving a mark through collaborative projects with UNICEF and USAID, he is also known as someone dedicated to humanitarian and community activities. Since June 2024, he has officially assumed the position of Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Vietnam.

With a multidisciplinary knowledge base and rich practical experience, Kohdayar Marri will bring participants a vivid and profound perspective on the diplomatic profession in today's world. Not only helping students understand more clearly the practice of diplomatic activities, the seminar also opens up opportunities to access Pakistan's perspective on the "undercurrents" shaping contemporary international relations, especially in the Middle East.

This promises to be an academically profound space where knowledge meets practice, where learners not only listen to a diplomatic story but are also inspired to broaden their vision, enhance strategic thinking, and nurture the courage for integration in a world that is changing every day.
