In his welcome speech to the 3rd cohort, Mr. Nguyen Vu Ky - Deputy Director of the Faculty of History and International Relations emphasized the importance of approaching issues from multiple perspectives. According to him, for the same event, each position and context can open up different interpretations. Therefore, learning about the world also means learning how to listen, dialogue, and respect differences. “I believe these 4 years here will help you get used to looking at an issue through multiple lenses, knowing how to listen to arguments different from your own, and knowing how to accept differences without losing your own perspective,” he shared.

In addition to studying and practicing foreign languages, he encouraged students to cultivate a spirit of research from the questions of “why”, while also knowing how to care and share with the community. Referring to the difficulties that may be encountered during the study process, he used the image of the pungent spiciness of wasabi to send a message about perseverance: “When things get difficult, I hope you remember why you started, why you chose this major, and use that as motivation to keep moving forward.”
The words of encouragement also affirmed the companionship of lecturers, seniors, and friends to the freshmen, especially those who have just left their families to start a new life. Looking forward to the 2030 graduation, each student is expected to be able to look back at their university journey with pride in what they have learned, the challenges they have overcome, and their personal growth.
