Talkshow “Check-in Library & Museum, Check-in Knowledge”: Empowering Freshmen with Academic Essentials
On the morning of September 29, 2025, at the Linh Xuan campus of USSH, VNU-HCM, the Center for Information, Library and Museum (CILM) organized the Talkshow “Check-in Library and Museum, Check-in Knowledge.” This was one many events in the 2025–2026 Academic Year Welcome series, attracting significant interest from faculty members and over 300 freshmen.
The program was attended by Dr. Bui Thu Hang – Director of CILM, alongside Vice Directors M.A. Vu Nguyen Anh and M.A. Vo Thi Huynh Nhu. Distinguished guests included Mr. Phan Truong Nhat – Representative of the University of Information Technology Library (VNU-HCM), and lecturers from various faculties and departments.
The keynote speaker, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hau – Researcher at the Center, Deputy Secretary-General of the Vietnam Association of Historical Sciences, and Secretary-General of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Historical Sciences, shared her profound and relatable insights. She guided students on effectively utilizing library resources, cultivating reading habits, and approaching knowledge with a proactive and creative mindset.
Beyond academic experiences, Dr. Hau also conveyed practical lessons on adapting to the university environment, ranging from academic communication and life skills to social interaction. Her sincere sharing empowered freshmen to embark on their journey of knowledge discovery with greater confidence.
Concluding in a vibrant and open atmosphere, the Talkshow left a lasting impression. The program not only introduced students to the utility services at the Library and Museum but also ignited a passion for inquiry and exploration, laying a solid skill foundation for their future academic and research endeavors.
