From 25th to 30th June 2023, the students of the high-quality program (Class of 2020-2024) of the Faculty of German Linguistics and Literature took part in an educational trip at the German Department of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Khon Kaen University (KKU) and at the Department of German Language, Faculty of Languages, National University of Laos.
The program began with the students being divided into small groups to sit in on classes with different lecturers from the two departments. They firstly observed the lessons, then completed the observation sheets. After the observation, they continued to have a professional debriefing with their supervisors and the instructors about what they observed. In addition, together with students from the German Department of Khon Kaen University, they participated in the workshop on "Learning Strategies", the content of which was prepared by DAAD lecturers from the three universities (KKU, NUOL, VNUHCM USSH). During the workshop, students from the Department of German Linguistics and Literature actively discussed with those from the German Department of Khon Kaen University, tried out various proposed learning strategies.
At the National University of Laos, a group of students from the Department of German Linguistics and Literature were encouraged to co-coordinate the workshop. Through this activity, the instructors expected the students to directly put into practice what they had learned from the workshop at KKU. The careful notes taken during the observations and the lively discussions afterwards showed that the students took the educational trip seriously and valued the valuable experience gained from the educational trip.
