USSH, VNU-HCM Recruits 05 Outstanding Scientists under VNU350 Program

In its pursuit to become a leading research university in Asia, where talents converge and knowledge disseminates, VNU-HCM is launching a program to attract, retain, and develop outstanding young scientists and leading scientists. Approximately 350 individuals will be recruited from 2024 to 2030, referred to as the VNU350 Program. Eligible candidates meeting the criteria and standards are encouraged to apply for the VNU350 Program.

Under the VNU350 Program, the first recruitment phase in 2024 will fill 65 positions. Among these, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities plans to recruit for the following roles: Lecturer in Religious Studies, Lecturer in Education Studies, Lecturer in Clinical Psychology, Lecturer in Linguistics, and Lecturer in Japanese Studies.

Lecturer in Religious Studies	- Lead the development and implementation of undergraduate programs in Religious Studies.    - Lead research projects at all levels.  - Contribute to international publications.  - Participate in international cooperation activities and scientific research.  - Conduct teaching duties as assigned by the Department Head.	Hold a doctoral degree or higher.
Lecturer in Education Studies	- Lead the organization and implementation of postgraduate programs in Education Studies.  - Lead research projects at all levels.  - Contribute to international publications.  - Participate in international cooperation activities and scientific research.  - Conduct teaching duties as assigned by the Department Head.  - Engage in supervising postgraduate students in thesis research.	Hold the title of Associate Professor or higher.
Lecturer in Clinical Psychology	- Lead the organization and implementation of postgraduate programs in Clinical Psychology.  - Lead research projects at all levels.  - Contribute to international publications.  - Participate in international cooperation activities and scientific research.  - Conduct teaching duties as assigned by the Department Head.  - Engage in supervising postgraduate students in thesis research.
Lecturer in Linguistics	- Lead the organization and implementation of postgraduate programs in Linguistics. - Lead research projects at all levels. - Contribute to international publications. - Participate in international cooperation activities and scientific research. - Conduct teaching duties as assigned by the Department Head. - Engage in supervising postgraduate students in thesis research. - Hold a doctoral degree or higher.
Lecturer in Japanese Studies	- Lead the development and implementation of postgraduate programs in Japanese Studies.  - Lead research projects at all levels.  - Contribute to international publications.  - Conduct teaching duties as assigned by the Department Head.  - Participate in international cooperation activities and scientific research.

1. General Requirements and Standards

• Candidates must hold a doctoral degree. Preference is given to candidates with academic ranks and expertise relevant to the positions and with experience studying or working abroad.
• Candidates must embody the core values of VNU-HCM: Excellence, Pioneering, Integrity, Responsibility, and Community. They should demonstrate independent teaching and research abilities, with aspirations to contribute to the development of VNU-HCM and higher education in Vietnam.
• Candidates applying for the VNU350 Program must be ready to undertake assigned tasks upon recruitment.

2. Specific Requirements and Standards

- For young scientists, candidates must meet one of the following criteria: 

(1) have scientific papers published in reputable journals or conferences; 

(2) have registered successful inventions or patents; 

(3) have transferred scientific or technological products; 

(4) have new research directions aligned with VNU-HCM's development strategy.

- For leading scientists, candidates must meet all five criteria: 

(1) lead a research group or laboratory; 

(2) lead research projects; 

(3) have publications in reputable scientific journals or possess exclusive patents; 

(4) have teaching or supervisory experience with research students; 

(5) have established national and international networks and collaborations.

4. Additional Benefits

+ For young scientists: Provided with 01 Type C Scientific Research Project with a maximum budget of 200,000,000 VND in the first two years, 01 Type B Scientific Research Project with a maximum budget of  1,000,000,000 VND in the third year, laboratory investment support of up to 10,000,000,000 VND in the fourth year, and assistance through the Associate Professor promotion process in the fifth year.

+ For leading scientists: Provided with 01 Type B Scientific Research Project with a maximum budget of 1,000,000,000 VND in the first two years, followed by (1) laboratory investment support of up to 30,000,000,000 VND, (2) establishment of strong research groups, and (3) assistance in registering as principal investigator for projects at all levels.

5. Remuneration Policies of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities

6. Vietnamese candidates: Monthly salaries as per state regulations (Doctoral degree with a coefficient of 3.0: 5,400,000 VND; Position-based salary: 15,000,000 VND).
7. Foreign candidates: Position-based salary is double that of Vietnamese candidates, with additional support including two round-trip air tickets per year and assistance with administrative procedures during employment.
