The Faculty of History co-organized the Scientific Workshop: “The Khuc family in the national history - from a military art perspective”

On Saturday morning, December 28th 2019, at the Van Khoa Hall (USSH, VNU-HCMC), the conference “The Khuc family in the national history - from a military art perspective” was held and jointly organized by the Faculty of History (USSH, VNU-HCMC), Military Zone 7, and the Vietnam Khuc Family Council.
In order to clarify the importance of historical events in the year 905 as well as the period of their reign in the history of the nation, and to shed light on the historical picture of a very important period in the history of Vietnam, and on the basis of the proposals of the Vietnamese Khuc clan, Faculty of History (USSH, VNU-HCM) recognized that holding a workshop with the theme “The Khuc family in national history - from military art perspective” is essential and has practical significance in preserving and promoting historical values, especially the military art of Vietnam during the Northern colonization
The workshop attracted the participation of a large number of scientists including military generals, police officers, lecturers and researchers, students... The discussion was focused on clarifying the purpose of the workshop:
-The nature, characteristics, meaning and stature of the event of Tong Binh in 905 as well as the role and position of Khuc Thua Du in the history of the nation;
-Military and diplomatic organization under Khuc Thua Du, Khuc Hao and Khuc Thua My, in order to maintain the autonomy that had just been acquired from the Northern feudal state;
-The inheritance and promotion of military achievements from the Tam Khuc Chua period contributed to the victory in the resistance against the Nam Han army under the leadership of Duong Dinh Nghe (931) and Ngo Quyen (938).
From the purpose of the workshop, the speakers focused on three main issues: Contributing to the restoration of the historical picture of Vietnamese people in the end of the ninth century - early tenth century; shed more light on the situation of Vietnam before and after Khuc Thua Du occupied Tong Binh city and built the foundation for independence; Military art in the process of establishing, strengthening and protecting the independence of the nation Vietnam at the beginning of the tenth century.
