Implementing the plan of admission to the first round of 2020 incoming students of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCMC, on the morning of August 21, 2020, at the Office of Faculty of History (Room A.215, Dinh Tien Hoang Campus), the Faculty of History held a reception for graduate students, PhD candidates (admission to the first tranche in 2020).
Attending the postgraduate reception of the Faculty of History, there were faculties and staffs from the Faculty’s Board of Management, the Graduate Department, and the assistant departments.
In the first postgraduate enrollment in 2020, the Faculty of History has admitted 18 students to the Master's and PhD programs. In the Master's program, there are 11 admitted students, in the following disciplines: World History (2 students), Vietnamese History (01 student) and History of Vietnamese Communist Party (08 students). With the PhD program, 07 students have been admitted in the Vietnamese History.
At the reception, Dr. Luu Van Quyen, Dean of the Faculty of History, on behalf of the Faculty's Board of Management, faculties and staffs assisted the postgraduate programs, sent congratulations to all the students for their successful admission in the first post-graduate enrollment in 2020.
Dr. Vu Quy Tung Anh, in charge of Postgraduate program, and the participants organized the staff of each class, and implemented the contents of the postgraduate training program for the 1st term of 2020 at the Faculty of History. According to the plan, the postgraduate training program of the Faculty of History is designed according to the research-oriented program; the programs are applied in addition to administrative hours; and the schedule of the modules applied by the Faculty is flexible in accordance with the practical application of each module and keep an abreast of the university’s progress in general modules.
Dr. Luu Van Quyet, Dean of the Faculty of History further shared with the participants that “At postgraduate studies, you need to improve to take initiatives in learning”. You should closely follow study plan and roadmap and have a high determination as well as proactive attitude in all matters of learning tasks, especially completion of conditional subjects, research topics...
“I have confidence and wishes that all of us would successfully complete our Postgraduate studies at the Faculty of History and achieve the best results within the set deadlines. During the course, if you have any questions about the studies, you should directly communicate with relevant departments or with all the lecturers in the Faculty. Not only the Board of Management, the department itself, but also the members of the Faculty will support you to achieve the desired goal to educate graduates who can contribute to and are recognized by society”. “Your success is also the success of the Board of Management, the lecturers in the Faculty and also contributes to the traditions of the Faculty,” the Dean stressed.
