From August 5th to 8th 2024, the 10th International German Camp, an annual event of the Vietnamese German Teachers' Association (VDLV), was successfully held in Da Nang. More than 90 lecturers, German-speaking students and pupils from Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines took part in the camp.
The program of the camp included a variety of activities, such as the cultural program, city exploration in the world heritage city of Hoi An and participation in seminars on various topics, etc. The German camp's diverse offerings brought together learners of German from different cultures and gave them the opportunity to find their way in an intercultural environment.
For the students of the Faculty of German Language and Literature of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences of the National University of Ho Chi Minh City, it was an opportunity to get to know the German learners from other cities in Vietnam, from Southeast Asia and their cultures. Even though the seminars only lasted two mornings, they were able to gain valuable knowledge and skills.
In addition to the activities for the German-speaking students and pupils, the 10th International German Camp also successfully held a training course for German teachers on "Integrating phonetics into the classroom for success", led by Mr. Arik Jahn, Deputy Director of the Goethe-Institut Ho Chi Minh City's Language Department.
The 10th International German Camp will remain a fond memory for all participants.
