         To realize the vision of becoming a leading research university system in Asia, a convergence point for talents, and a hub for spreading Vietnamese knowledge and culture, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City has developed a program to attract, retain, and develop excellent young scientists and leading scientists, with a target of approximately 350 individuals during the 2024-2030 period (abbreviated as the VNU350 Program). Excellent young scientists and leading scientists who meet the required conditions and standards can apply for the VNU350 Program. 
         Under the VNU350 Program, Phase 1, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City will recruit for 17 positions: Lecturer in German Linguistics, Lecturer in Religious Studies, Lecturer in Education, Lecturer in Psychology, Lecturer in Linguistics, Lecturer in Asian Studies, Lecturer in Korean Studies, Lecturer in History, Lecturer in Philosophy, Lecturer in Journalism & Communication, Lecturer in Resource & Environmental Management, Lecturer in Tourism, and Lecturer in Archival Science.

Associate Professor title, Ph.D. degree in Archival Science

1. General conditions and standards

  • Possess a Ph.D. degree: preference is given to candidates with academic titles, expertise related to the disciplines and fields of the recruitment positions; and experience in studying or working abroad.

  • Ensure the core values of VNUHCM: Excellence - Pioneering - Integrity - Responsibility - Community. Candidates must have the ability to teach and conduct research independently; possess ambition, aspiration, and a desire to contribute to the development of VNUHCM in particular and higher education in Viet Nam in general.

  • Candidates registered for the VNU350 Program must be prepared to accept the assignment upon notification of success.

2. Specific conditions and standards

- For young scientists, they must meet one of the following four criteria:

(1) Have scientific articles published in reputable journals or conferences;

(2) or have successfully registered patents;

(3) or have transferred scientific or technological products;

(4) or have new, promising research directions consistent with the development strategy of VNUHCM.

- For leading scientists, they must meet all five following criteria:

Have experience and capacity in:

(1) leading a research group or laboratory;

(2) presiding over scientific-technological projects;

(3) having works published in reputable scientific journals or owning exclusive patents;

(4) having teaching and Ph.D. supervision experience;

(5) having domestic and international relationships and cooperation (being a member of international scientific-technological organizations; participating in organizing international conferences; editing, peer-reviewing articles for international journals).

3. VNUHCM Attraction Policy

  • Guaranteed professional, civilized, and fair facilities and working environment, with assignments suitable for the candidate's capacity.

  • Access and shared use of laboratories, databases, and libraries of units within the system for research purposes as prescribed.

  • Opportunities to participate in scientific research communities, training cooperation, and relationship development with scientists within VNUHCM and top scientists both domestically and internationally.

  • Support for registering research projects at all levels, including international projects, national-level key scientific and technological programs (KC), Nafosted, projects of Ho Chi Minh City and other localities, enterprises, etc.

  • Guaranteed involvement in teaching and supervising Master's students and Ph.D. candidates.

  • Priority in registration for official accommodation, if under 35 years old.

+ For young scientists

  • During the first 2 years: receive 1 type-C research project (maximum budget: 200,000,000 VND).

  • The third year: receive 1 type-B project (maximum budget: 1 billion VND).

  • The fourth year: support for laboratory investment for scientific research, maximum budget: 10 billion VND.

  • The fifth year: support and guidance on procedures for recognition of meeting the state-level Associate Professor standards.

+ For leading scientists

 During the first 2 years: receive 1 type-B research project (maximum budget: 1 billion VND).

- Subsequent years:

  • (1) receive support for laboratory investment for scientific research, maximum budget: 30 billion VND;

  • (2) receive support to establish a strong research group;

  • (3) receive support for registering to preside over research projects at all levels.

4. Attraction Policy of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities

+ For Vietnamese candidates:

  • Base salary according to State regulations, adjusted based on seniority.

  • Job position salary: 15,000,000 VND/month.

  • Attraction policy for new candidates joining the University

+ Professor: 200,000,000 VND.

+ Associate Professor: 150,000,000 VND.

+ Ph.D.: 100,000,000 VND.

+ For international candidates:

  • Enjoy the same policies as Vietnamese candidates.

  • Job position salary is 02 times higher than the corresponding job position salary for Vietnamese candidates.

  • Support for 02 round-trip air tickets/year.

  • Support for documents and procedures during their time working at the University.

5. Application submission instructions:

Candidates must prepare a competency profile as required:

- Letter of intent.

- Recommendation letters from their previous institution or from their supervisors/reputable experts.

- Scientific CV.

- Personal development plan for 5 years if successfully selected.

- Project proposal according to VNUHCM format.

- Documents proving competence, work experience, and achievements relevant to the recruitment position.
