On May 13, 2025, at room B204 – Dinh Tien Hoang campus, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, held a master's thesis defense for student Ryan Brendan Farrell, currently studying at the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies. Thesis title: “The word ‘cà phê’ (coffee) in the linguistic landscape of Ho Chi Minh City today”, in the field of Vietnamese Studies, supervised by Dr. Nguyen Hoang Phuong. The thesis evaluation committee highly appreciated the topicality and practical application of the topic, while noting the independent thinking, interdisciplinary approach, and seriousness during the research process. The thesis is clearly presented, has a tight structure, and meets all requirements regarding scientific content and methodology. The Faculty of Vietnamese Studies would like to sincerely congratulate student Ryan Brendan Farrell on successfully defending his master's thesis; congratulations to the supervisor and the Faculty for having a new Master – someone who promises to continue making positive contributions to the training and scientific research work of the University.
