CAFSUS Project – Participation in Capacity-Building Workshop on Adaptation to the EU Regulation on Deforestation and Forest Degradation in Đồng Nai

On April 3–4, 2025, representatives from Research Center for Marine Studies and Climate Change, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (USSH, VNU-HCM), participated in the training workshop entitled “Enhancing Adaptive Capacity to the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR)”.

The workshop was jointly organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, the Institute of Agricultural Planning and Design, Forest Trends, GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit), and the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Đồng Nai Province.
The training workshop aimed to provide comprehensive and up-to-date information on the European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) to officials from regulatory agencies, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), cooperatives, and various stakeholders within the value chain.

Additionally, the program offered technical guidance to support enterprises in meeting the compliance requirements of the EUDR. During the sessions, presenters delivered detailed explanations and addressed participants’ questions concerning traceability requirements and accountability obligations within supply chains serving the European market. Particular attention was given to enterprises operating in Vietnam’s key export sectors, including coffee, timber, and rubber.
