Lecturers of the Chinese Language and Literature Department accompany the training activities for Chinese language teachers in Soc Trang, affirming the prestige and quality of training.
Continuing the tradition of cooperation and contribution to the community, the Faculty of Chinese Language and Literature, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University, Ho Chi Minh City, once again had the honor of accompanying the Department of Education and Training (DET) of Soc Trang province in a training course to improve teaching capacity for Chinese teachers. This is an annual activity, taking place continuously for 5 years, affirming the Faculty's commitment to supporting the development of Chinese language education in the southern provinces.
The training course was organized to meet the practical needs of teaching Chinese in non-public schools in Soc Trang province. The training course focused on 6 important topics, including: Knowledge and skills in teaching Chinese vocabulary; Knowledge and skills in teaching HSK reading and writing; Knowledge and skills in teaching Chinese phonetics and grammar; Lesson planning in the direction of developing qualities and abilities; Practical Vietnamese-Chinese and Chinese-Vietnamese translation and interpretation skills; and Application of AI technology in teaching Chinese.
The faculty of the Chinese Language and Literature Department has been actively contributing to this training program. In particular, Dr. Duong Thi Trinh, one of the experienced lecturers of the Department, is in charge of two important topics: "Knowledge and skills in teaching Chinese phonetics and grammar" and "Composing lesson plans in the direction of developing qualities and abilities". In addition, MSc. Han Hong Diep (in charge of topics 1 and 2: Knowledge and skills in teaching Chinese vocabulary, Knowledge and skills in teaching reading comprehension - HSK) and
Dr. Truong Gia Quyen (Deputy Head of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature), in charge of two highly applicable topics, "Vietnamese-Chinese and Chinese-Vietnamese translation and interpretation skills in practice" and "Application of AI technology in teaching Chinese", is also part of the teaching staff. The participation of prestigious lecturers from the Department once again affirms the quality and diversity in expertise of the teaching staff of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature.
The training course took place at Hoang Dieu High School, No. 01 Mac Dinh Chi Street, Ward 4, Soc Trang City, divided into 03 sessions, each session lasting 5 days (including 3 days of theory and 2 days of practice). Session 1 from June 6, 2025 to June 10, 2025; Session 2 from June 11, 2025 to June 15, 2025; and Session 3 from June 20, 2025 to June 24, 2025. A total of 46 Chinese teachers from educational institutions in Soc Trang province participated in the training.
With the contribution of a team of experienced and dedicated lecturers from the Faculty of Chinese Language and Literature, and the close coordination of the Department of Education and Training of Soc Trang province and related units, the training course promises to bring practical results, contributing to improving the quality of Chinese language teaching in Soc Trang, while continuing to affirm the pioneering role of the Faculty in serving the community and developing Chinese language education in Vietnam.
