Enhancing cooperation between the Department of Vietnamese Studies and the Language Center – Taichung University of Science and Technology

On July 21, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM, held a working session with the Language Center – Taichung University of Science and Technology to promote cooperation in Vietnamese language training and the organization of Vietnamese language proficiency certification exams. The working session was attended by leaders of functional departments, representatives of the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies, and a delegation from Taiwan. The partners included: Prof. Dr. Cheng Chun-Mei, Director of the Language Center; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hsu Shih-Yun, Faculty of Business Administration, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Office; Dr. Cheng Mei-Hui, Assistant Professor, Center for General Education; Dr. Nguyen Thi Nu, Assistant Professor, Head of the Language Certification and Testing Department, Language Center. Representatives from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM included: Dr. Hoang Thi Trang – Deputy Head of the External Relations & Scientific Management Office; Ms. Nguyen Thi Bich Ha – Deputy Head of the Training Management Office; Dr. Nguyen Hoang Phuong – Deputy Head of the Vietnamese Studies Department. The meeting focused on discussing the coordination of organizing the Vietnamese Language Proficiency Certificate examination in Taichung (Taiwan), and also opened opportunities for cooperation in training and faculty-student exchange between the two sides. Prior to this, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation. (MOU) in 2022 and implementation agreements (MOA) in 2022 and 2023. This meeting further affirms the strong bond, aiming to expand in-depth cooperation in the field of training and organizing Vietnamese language proficiency tests for learners in Taiwan in the future.
