Announcement of PhD Scholarship Program at National University of Singapore for the academic year 2026-2027

Dear Units,

The School would like to inform the units about the Doctoral Scholarship Program at the National University of Singapore for the 2026-2027 academic year as follows:

1. General information
On May 14, 2024, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Vu Hai Quan, Director of Ho Chi Minh City National University (VNU-HCM), had a meeting with Prof. Tan Eng Chye, President of the National University of Singapore (NUS) to discuss the implementation plan of the cooperation contents agreed upon by the two sides in the memorandum of understanding signed on January 24, 2024.

On this basis, to implement the cooperation content: "The two sides coordinate to build advanced training cooperation programs and create diverse learning opportunities for students", and continue the doctoral scholarship program implemented in the previous academic year, NUS continues to award scholarships to study for a doctorate at NUS in the 2026-2027 academic year to candidates of VNU-HCM with excellent achievements in study and research.
2. Benefits
NUS sponsors all tuition fees and supports monthly living expenses for 04 years of study at NUS.
3. Subjects
Students or civil servants and employees (VC&NLĐ) of the School.

Note:
- Scholarships are for face-to-face programmes at NUS (not for online programmes);
- Scholarships are not available to individuals who already have a PhD.
4. Application Documents
- A personal statement outlining the area of ​​study the applicant wishes to pursue in the PhD programme at NUS;
- Academic CV;
- Latest transcripts:
+ For applicants who have not yet commenced their Master’s programme: submit their Bachelor’s transcript;
+ For applicants who have commenced or completed their Master’s programme: submit both their Bachelor’s and Master’s transcripts.
- Evidence of scientific publications;
- Evidence of English proficiency: minimum TOEFL 85 for Internet Based Test (IBT) or IELTS Academic 6.0;
- Research Statement;

- Certificate confirming that the candidate is a student or a VC&NLĐ currently working at the University. This is proof to confirm that the candidate belongs to the VNU-HCM system.

5. Registration rules

- Candidates interested in the program must directly submit their application to the Department of External Affairs and Project Development, VNU-HCM via email: tranhung@vnuhcm.edu.vn before 16:00 on 09/09/2025;
- Candidates must send 01 copy of their application to the Department of External Affairs and Scientific Management via email: era@hcmussh.edu.vn after submitting their application to the Department of External Affairs and Project Development.
- Candidates nominated to NUS will receive an email (via the registered email address) about the registration instructions on the NUS system expected on 11/09/2025. Candidates nominated to NUS must complete the registration instructions on the NUS system before 16:00 on 15/09/2025.
