On the morning of September 17th, the Institute of Social Science and Humanities Research successfully organized the training session: “Practical application of AI in teaching and scientific research.” The event attracted the participation of lecturers, teachers, and researchers, along with the presence of the Lao Student Dormitory Management Board, graduate students, and Vietnamese and Lao researchers, creating a vibrant and cohesive educational forum.
Mr. Tran Trieu Quan (MA, Head of the Electronic Trading & Research Department, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics – Finance Lecturer) provided a comprehensive overview of the importance and considerations when applying artificial intelligence in the workplace.
At the beginning, Mr. Tran Trieu Quan presented an overview of AI and its effective application methods, offering basic knowledge to help the audience understand the essence, classification, and immense potential of artificial intelligence, not only in higher education but also in scientific research. Following this, trainees experienced the use of popular AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok3, and DeepSeek, which serve various specialties, from building lesson plans and designing subject outlines to searching for documentaries, analyzing data, and developing scientific topics. The instruction included building specialized ChatBots to create virtual assistants that can effectively assist in teaching, research, and problem-solving in daily tasks.
Speaking at the training, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan, the Director of the Institute of Social Science and Humanities Research, emphasized: “The application of technology, especially artificial intelligence in education and research, is an essential trend. This training is a practical step, affirming our institute's commitment to supporting our lecturers, researchers, and staff in keeping pace with the digital age. We would be happy to welcome all special guests who are coming to expand connections and spread knowledge to the community.”
The training not only provided knowledge and skills but also served as an opening educational forum, inspiring creativity and generating new corporate opportunities. The program's success continues to affirm the importance of proactive technology ownership in social science and humanities.
