Assoc. Prof. Joanna Zawiejska Conducts Academic Visit and Guest Lectures at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM

Within the framework of the Erasmus+ KA171 International Cooperation Program between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNU-HCM) and the Pedagogical University of Krakow (UKEN), Poland, Assoc. Prof. Joanna Zawiejska carried out an academic visit and teaching engagement in Vietnam from October 12 to November 13, 2025.

The visit aimed to strengthen academic collaboration, research exchange, and educational partnerships between the two institutions, under the implementation of the project “Excellence Initiative – Research University”.
During her stay in Ho Chi Minh City, Assoc. Prof. Zawiejska collaborated with Dr. Pham Thi Bich Ngoc – Lecturer at the Faculty of Geography and Director of the Center for Island and Climate Change Studies – in a range of professional activities, including academic seminars, teaching exchanges, institutional meetings within VNU-HCM, and field surveys at the Can Gio Biosphere Reserve.

A highlight of her visit was the guest lecture titled “Sustainable Tourism: Opportunities and Challenges,” delivered as part of the course Environment and Development under the Economic Development and Environmental Protection Program, coordinated by Dr. Pham Thi Bich Ngoc.
The session brought together students from the 2+2 International Joint Program between USSH and UKEN, offering them global perspectives and practical insights on sustainable tourism development, green transition, and climate change adaptation in socio-economic contexts.

Assoc. Prof. Joanna Zawiejska’s teaching and academic engagements exemplify the active and effective academic cooperation between Vietnam and Poland, contributing to enhanced scientific exchange, interdisciplinary research capacity, and the internationalization of higher education at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM.
