Announcement on student and graduate student exchange program with Aoyama Gakuin University, Japan for the 2026 Spring Semester
Dear students,
The university would like to announce information regarding the student and graduate student exchange program with Aoyama Gakuin University, Japan, for the 2026 Spring Semester as follows:
1. Timeline (tentative)
- Spring Semester: March 2026 – August 2026;
- Fall Semester: September 2026 – February 2027;
- Candidates may choose either 01 semester or 02 semesters.
2. Number of candidates
Each department nominates a maximum of 01 student and 01 graduate student (if applicable).
3. Eligibility
- Undergraduate students from the second year onwards and graduate students who have studied at the University for at least 02 semesters;
- Academic performance of good level or higher;
- Japanese proficiency of N5 or higher if enrolling in the Japanese-taught program, or English proficiency of IELTS 5.5/TOEFL iBT 68 or higher if enrolling in the English-taught program (some programs may have specific requirements for foreign language certificates, please see the attached file for detailed information).
4. Expenses
Candidates are exempt from tuition fees and must cover all other expenses.
5. Majors
- Taught in English: Literature, Education, Politics, International Economics and Communication, Culture and Creative Studies, Social Informatics.
- Taught in Japanese: Psychology and Anthropology, Economics, Business, Law, Science and Engineering, Global Studies and Cooperation, Graduate School of Community Studies.
- Note:
+ Majors are subject to change depending on the level of study (please see the attached file for detailed information);
+ Graduate students must contact the Office of International Affairs and Scientific Research (OIA&SR) before registering to check which majors are open and the specific requirements for each major.
6. Application documents
- Recommendation letter from the department;
- Commitment letter for participating in the program (template provided);
- Emergency contact information form (template provided);
- For Japanese-taught majors, candidates must submit a copy of their JLPT certificate and a Japanese language study record form (template provided). For English-taught majors, candidates must submit an IELTS/TOEFL iBT certificate or an English proficiency statement form (template provided) if they do not have a certificate;
- Transcript (in English) and a document confirming the grading system (in English). For graduate students, an undergraduate degree and undergraduate transcript are required;
- Information form for the Aoyama Gakuin University academic support person (template provided);
- Health certificate (template provided);
- Proof of bank balance or scholarship certificate;
- Copy of the passport information page;
- ID photo (4x3cm);
- Application for Certificate of Eligibility (CoE) (template provided);
- TB Clearance Certificate;
- Other relevant documents such as: dormitory application or other health-related documents (if any).
