PROMOTING UNIVERSITY-ENTERPRISE CONNECTIONS: UNIVERSITY OF SOCIAL SCIENCES AND HUMANITIES, VIET NAM NATIONAL UNIVERSITY HO CHI MINH CITY WORKS WITH TCL TECHNOLOGY GROUP
On the morning of June 10, 2026, at room A.001, Saigon campus, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City held a working session with representatives of TCL Technology Group to exchange orientations for cooperation in training, internships, recruitment, and the development of high-quality human resources.

Attending the working session on behalf of the University were:
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Ngoc Thu – Director of External Relations and Research Affairs;
M.A. Tran Nam – Director of Student Affairs;
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan – Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies;
Dr. Hoang Thi Thu Thuy – Head of the Chinese Studies Section;
Dr. Nguyen Tang Nghi - Dean of the Faculty of History and International Relations;
M.A. Nguyen Minh Thuy – Vice Dean of the Faculty of Chinese Linguistics and Literature;
Dr. Duong Thi Trinh – Lecturer at the Faculty of Chinese Linguistics and Literature.
On behalf of TCL Technology were:
Mr. Ding Wei – Director of the TCL Representative Office in Vietnam;
Mr. Sun GuoQiang – External Relations Director of the TCL Representative Office in Vietnam;
Ms. Nguyen Pham Nhat Linh – Specialist at the TCL Representative Office in Vietnam.
TCL is a global technology corporation established in 1981, currently operating in more than 160 countries and territories, with core sectors including smart devices, semiconductor displays and materials, and new energy photovoltaic materials. Vietnam has been the first destination in TCL's globalization strategy since 1999 and is now one of the group's key investment markets with more than 10,000 employees working at production facilities across the country.

In recent times, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNUHCM and TCL have built a close cooperative relationship through many practical activities in the field of training and human resource development. In May 2024, the two sides officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), creating a foundation to implement cooperation programs between the university and the enterprise. On that basis, the Faculty of Oriental Studies has effectively maintained and developed cooperative activities with TCL. Since 2024, TCL has accepted students for two rounds of practical internships at the enterprise; coordinated to organize a thematic workshop on March 29, 2024; and regularly participated in providing feedback during reviews and improvements of the Faculty's training programs. Currently, 9 alumni of the Faculty of Oriental Studies are working at TCL in various positions. These activities contribute to promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals: SDG 8 - by improving professional capabilities and employment opportunities for students; SDG 9 - by strengthening connections between educational institutions and technology enterprises; and also demonstrating the spirit of SDG 17 - through effective cooperation between the university and the enterprise in developing high-quality human resources related to Chinese language and Area Studies - Country Studies.

In the exchange content, the two sides discussed human resource needs in the context of the enterprise continuing to expand its investment in Vietnam, and exchanged opportunities to strengthen cooperation between the university and the enterprise. Issues of interest include organizing site visits, observation internships, professional internships; recruitment connections; sharing expertise from the enterprise; as well as coordinating to build training activities linked to the practical requirements of the labor market.
The working program not only contributed to consolidating the cooperative relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNUHCM and TCL Technology Group but also opened up many opportunities for substantive cooperation in training, internships, recruitment, and high-quality human resource development. This is one of the activities concretizing the orientation of strengthening the bond between the university and enterprises, contributing to improving professional capabilities for students, meeting human resource needs in the context of international integration and digital transformation. At the same time, these cooperation orientations continue to contribute to the implementation of SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) through developing human resources to meet the needs of the economy, promoting innovation, and strengthening connections between higher education institutions and enterprises.
The working session took place in an open and constructive atmosphere, contributing to consolidating the cooperative relationship between the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM and TCL Technology Group, aiming to leverage the strengths of each side in training high-quality human resources to meet the development needs of the enterprise and society in the new phase.
