Meeting between the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Busan University of Foreign Studies (South Korea)

On the afternoon of January 10, 2025, at room C001, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, a meeting took place between the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and Busan University of Foreign Studies (South Korea) (BUFS).
Representing BUFS were Prof. Bae Yang Soo, Dean of the Faculty of Southeast Asian Studies, Vietnamese Language Major (BUFS), and Assoc. Prof. Kim Tae Kyu, Director of the Special Language Development Project. Representing the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies were members of the Faculty Board – Assoc. Prof. Huynh Ngoc Thu (Dean) and Dr. Nguyen Hoang Phuong (Vice Dean), along with lecturers Dr. Dao Muc Dich and Dr. Nguyen Duy Doai.
At the meeting, Prof. Bae Yang Soo expressed his delight that the cooperation between the two universities has been maintained over the past many years. He affirmed that the 2+2 joint program and the sending of lecturers to BUFS to teach Vietnamese will continue to be prioritized for maintenance and stronger development by the university.
️In response, Assoc. Prof. Huynh Ngoc Thu emphasized that the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies always prioritizes cooperation with the Vietnamese Language major (BUFS) and hopes that both sides will continue to accompany each other in many more academic activities.
Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Kim Tae Kyu further discussed new contents in the cooperation between the two Faculties, such as co-organizing an international conference on Teaching Vietnamese in Busan; sending Vietnamese students to Busan for a 2-week academic exchange; and coordinating the compilation of Vietnamese textbooks for students of the 2+2 joint training program at BUFS.
The Faculty of Vietnamese Studies always welcomes universities around the world to cooperate and link in teaching Vietnamese and promoting the image, country, culture, and people of Vietnam.
