Leadership of the Faculty of Oriental Studies participates in the working program of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in Hanoi

From August 25, 2026 to August 28, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan – Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City participated in the working delegation of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City in Hanoi.

The key activity of the program was a working session and experience exchange between the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi on the afternoon of August 25, 2026. At the program, delegates from the two localities discussed many contents related to ethnic and religious affairs, people-to-people diplomacy, overseas Vietnamese, promoting the role of typical organizations and individuals, and strengthening the great national unity bloc.

In addition to the professional working program, the delegation also participated in practical fact-finding activities at several historical and cultural relics and typical religious sites in Hanoi, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Quan Thanh Temple, Bach Ma Temple, Voi Phuc Temple, and Kim Lien Communal House. These are locations associated with the history of the formation of Thang Long – Hanoi, folk religious life, and the urban cultural space of the Capital.

On August 27, 2026, the delegation continued to survey the K9 Da Chong Relic Site and the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism. The activity helped members gain a practical perspective on preserving, introducing, and promoting heritage values; the cultural life of ethnic communities; as well as the role of culture in strengthening social cohesion.

For the Faculty of Oriental Studies, the participation of the Faculty leadership in the working program is an opportunity to connect research and training with the practical work of ethnic, religious, cultural, and people-to-people diplomacy. The experiences and exchanges during the trip also contribute to supplementing practical materials for teaching and research on area studies, cultural studies, and current diverse socio-cultural issues.

The program also contributes to strengthening the connection and sharing of experience between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi in Front work, promoting social resources, and consolidating the great national unity bloc.
