On the afternoon of September 25, at the Linh Xuan campus, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City held a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signing ceremony with Oud Vietnam Company. This is a business established in 2017, specializing in research, development, production, and distribution of natural agarwood products with a closed value chain.
Attending the ceremony, on behalf of Oud Vietnam, was CEO Le Anh Nguyet and company staff. Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan, Director of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Dr. Le Thi Sinh Hien, Deputy Director of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, along with lecturers and students from the Arabic Studies section.
Speaking at the ceremony, representative of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan emphasized that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding is the foundation for cooperation activities between the University and Oud Vietnam to be implemented in a substantive and systematic manner. The orientation of both parties is to build human resources in Arabic language that directly meet the needs of the business in developing the Middle East and GCC markets.
Representing Oud Vietnam, CEO Le Anh Nguyet shared that the company's orientation is not only aimed at commercial value but also pursues the goal of preserving and spreading the traditional cultural values of Vietnamese Agarwood to the international market. Therefore, Oud Vietnam commits to accepting Arabic language students for internships, participating in business, marketing, customer service, import-export, and market development activities. The company may also participate in providing feedback on training content and sharing practical situations with students.
According to the Memorandum of Understanding, Oud Vietnam may also accompany the Arabic Studies section in awarding scholarships and prizes to encourage students with good achievements. At the same time, both sides will coordinate to organize seminars and cultural festivals to introduce Vietnamese and Arabic cultures, exploring intersections in trade and agarwood products.
The signing ceremony is an important milestone, affirming the commitment of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City to strengthening cooperation with businesses, and promoting the training model associated with practice. Thereby, the University continues to equip students with knowledge, skills, and the ability to adapt to the requirements of the labor market in the context of integration.
