FACULTY OF HISTORY ISSUED EDUCATIONAL PHILOSOPHY
(Educational philosophy, scientific training and research):
“TRADITIONAL, LIBERAL, CREATIVE EDUCATION”
Comprehension of educational philosophy:
Traditional education: Traditional education is a spirit of education based on the historical - cultural values created by the Vietnamese people in the process of establishment, adaptation and development in human history. These values are drawn and handed down through generations, inherited and promoted to create their own identities. On that basis, traditional values continue to be strengthened, supplemented and created new values consistent with the development of the nation.
Traditional education addresses the following specific values:
- Deep knowledge of Vietnamese history and ethnic culture
- Promotion of the traditional Vietnamese values in education, training and research activities at the Faculty.
- Pursuit of goodness, ideals and citizen’s responsibility to society and nation
- Connection of education and academia with the world on the basis of Vietnamese identity.
Liberal education: Liberal education is a spirit of education that aims to provide learners with a broad background of knowledge, life skills and professional practice that can acculturate and transform, convey a strong sense of the cultural values, morality and initiative of civic life. The education provides access to a wide range of academic opportunities and intensive learning strategies on the basis of acquiring diverse knowledge, reasoning and perspectives. In addition, the liberal education program aims to build a development environment for free and creative people.
Liberal education addresses the following specific values:
- Thinking of teaching and learning based on scientific spirit: Logicality, system, independence, respect, criticism, and multiculturalism.
- Interdisciplinary combination in education, training and research
- Combination of theory and multi-dimensional approach in solving professional problems
- Tolerance and respect for differences.
Creative education: Creative education is a spirit of passion for research and exploration to create new material and spiritual values or to find new ones and new solutions without being dependent on the existing ones. This spirit also manifests itself in the process of teaching and learning at the Faculty, encouraging efforts to think, explore and learn, find ways to solve problems for the best results.
Creative education addresses the following specific values:
- Promotion of the spirit of passion for science, thirst for and discovery of knowledge
- Connection and application of historical knowledge in acknowledging and solving practical problems
- Spirit of lifelong learning, invariable application and creation of knowledge in life
- Ability to combine, harmonize, convert at work, communicate and adapt to multicultural environment.
