Welcoming Assoc. Prof. Li Mingjiang - S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University (Singapore)

On the afternoon of November 24, 2025, the Faculty of History and International Relations, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, had the honor of welcoming Assoc. Prof. Li Mingjiang from the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore. The working session aimed to exchange information about the units, research orientations, and establish specific cooperation directions in training and scientific research.

◈ Introduction to NTU - RSIS:

Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, is a research-intensive public university with approximately 35,000 students studying in various fields from engineering, science, and information technology to social sciences and humanities. NTU is also home to the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (RSIS), a graduate school and think tank specializing in security and strategy with global prestige. RSIS provides intensive graduate programs and conducts policy research in the fields of security, science and technology, economics, and sustainable development. The school publishes prestigious academic works, provides timely policy analysis, and maintains an extensive network of cooperation with international organizations, academic institutions, think tanks, and government agencies, while participating in establishing standards in emerging fields such as cyberspace and digital transformation.

◈ Exchanging opportunities for study at NTU - RSIS

The meeting also focused on study opportunities at RSIS. Assoc. Prof. Li Mingjiang introduced Master of Science programs in Strategic Studies, International Relations, International Political Economy, and Asian Studies, along with short-term courses and international exchange programs.

Postgraduate admission requirements include English proficiency: a minimum TOEFL iBT of 100 or IELTS of 7.0, with results within two years from the application date, along with good academic performance and a clear research orientation.

Assoc. Prof. Li Mingjiang expressed his hope that in the near future, there will be more students and trainees from the Faculty of History and International Relations, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNUHCM participating in study and research programs at RSIS, contributing to the formation of a diverse, dynamic, and creative academic community.

◈ Towards practical and effective cooperation

The working session took place in an open, sincere, and frank atmosphere. Both sides highly valued the goodwill and commitment to cooperate in promoting training and research.

On behalf of Dr. Nguyen Tang Nghi, he emphasized the desire to build student and lecturer exchange programs, promote joint research projects, and strengthen academic connections between the Faculty of History and International Relations, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNUHCM and RSIS.

On behalf of Assoc. Prof. Li Mingjiang, he affirmed his readiness to provide information regarding training programs, scholarships, and research, encouraging students and lecturers from both sides to participate in joint academic activities, while opening up opportunities for cooperation in strategic, security, and international relations research.
