On December 6, 2025, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, VNU-HCM, organized the 30th Anniversary Celebration of the Sociology Program (1995–2025) at the Van Khoa Auditorium, Dinh Tien Hoang Campus. The event welcomed the participation of university leaders, former faculty members, lecturers, alumni, current students, and representatives from partner organizations.

A Formal and Heartfelt Celebration

The ceremony commenced with the national flag salute and opening remarks, followed by congratulatory speeches from the University Board of Rectors, the Faculty Leadership, and alumni representatives. The speeches revisited key milestones throughout the 30-year development of the Sociology Program and acknowledged the significant contributions of generations of lecturers, researchers, and learners to academic advancement and community engagement.

Two documentaries, “30 Years of Sociology” and “We Speak About Us”, were presented during the ceremony. These videos brought forth touching stories and memorable images, allowing participants to reflect on the program’s journey from its early establishment to its current phase of integration and innovation.

The ceremony also included segments honoring outstanding individuals and groups, awarding scholarships to students, and expressing appreciation to former faculty members—highlighting the program’s deep respect for the sustained contributions of its academic community over the past three decades.

Gala Gathering – A Space for Generational Connection

Immediately after the ceremony, a Gala Gathering was held at Van Thanh Tourist Village, creating a warm and friendly atmosphere. This was a meaningful occasion for generations of teachers and students to reunite, share memories, and reflect on their academic journeys and student life experiences.

Musical performances, interactive activities, and informal exchanges contributed to a lively and heartfelt event, showcasing the dynamic and humanistic spirit that characterizes the Sociology community.

A Significant Milestone in the Program’s Journey

The 30th Anniversary Celebration and Gala marked not only a moment of looking back on the growth of the Sociology Program but also a step toward future development—especially as the program enters a new phase of integration with Social Work and Anthropology to form the Faculty of Social Work – Anthropology – Sociology from 2025.

The event concluded in an atmosphere of excitement and pride, leaving lasting impressions and renewed motivation for the program’s continued progress in the years ahead.
