ACCEPTANCE OF THE TEXTBOOK DRAFT “AUSTRALIAN CULTURE AND SOCIETY” TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF SPECIALIZED TEACHING MATERIALS

At 14:30 on June 15, 2026, at room D.102 (Saigon campus), the Board of Development and Management of Teaching Materials of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City, coordinated to organize a meeting of the Appraisal and Acceptance Council for the textbook draft "Australian Culture and Society", co-edited by Dr. Tran Cao Boi Ngoc and M.A. Le Dang Thao Uyen.

The Appraisal Council was established with the participation of reputable experts and scientists in the fields of linguistics and area studies, including:

+ Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City) - Council Chair;

+ Dr. Nguyen Thi Kieu Thu (Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology - HUTECH) - Reviewer 1;

+ Dr. Nguyen Thi Nhu Ngoc (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City) - Reviewer 2;

+ Dr. Ngo Anh Dao (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City) - Member;

+ Dr. Van Thi Nha Truc (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City) - Member - Secretary.

Regarding administrative assistance, there was coordination from M.A. Nguyen Thi Thiet - Member of the Board of Development and Management of Teaching Materials.

At the meeting, the representative of the author team presented a 10-minute summary of the structure, core content, approach methods, and new points of the textbook draft to meet the learning outcomes of the training program.

After listening to the presentation by the author team and detailed comments from the two reviewers, the Council members discussed and evaluated the draft objectively and comprehensively. The Council affirmed that the draft "Australian Culture and Society" is a seriously invested work with a coherent structure, rich content, and high relevance.

Besides the outstanding advantages, the Council also provided in-depth professional feedback and guidance to help the author team further improve the academic quality and presentation format. The author team will have 30 days to incorporate feedback, revise, and finalize the draft according to the Council's conclusion before proceeding with further publication procedures.

Concluding the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan - Council Chair highly appreciated the scientific work spirit of the author team. Once officially published, the textbook promises to become a highly valuable learning and reference material, contributing to improving the quality of learning and research for students, especially those majoring in Australian Studies at the university.
