Organizing an alumni festival, developing the Green University program, creating an alumni space, and finding solutions to support disadvantaged students... these were among the ideas proposed at the 2nd Conference of the University Alumni Liaison Board in 2022, held on the afternoon of June 7. The conference was attended by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, President; Dr. Pham Tan Ha - Vice President; MA. Tran Nam - Director of the Communications and Enterprise Relations Department, along with representatives of faculties and departments.
Representing the University Alumni Liaison Board was Dr. Huynh Thanh Lap - Director of the Alumni Liaison Board and members of the Standing Committee, as well as representatives of alumni liaison boards from other faculties and departments.

Speaking at the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan - President, expressed her appreciation for the contributions of the University's alumni to the development of the University and society. She affirmed that over the past 5 years, the University Alumni Liaison Board has been an indispensable element in the formation and development of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City. Through this, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngo Thi Phuong Lan also expressed her belief that the conference would yield many ideas for developing alumni activities across the University, its faculties, and departments.

The contents implemented during the conference included: Report on the University's alumni activities for the first and second half of 2022; Information regarding plans for the University's 65th Anniversary; The "Người Nhân văn" program for building a Green University; Implementation of the plan to consolidate the Alumni Liaison Boards of faculties and departments for the 2022–2025 term; Discussion and contributions of ideas.
In the reporting section, MA. Tran Nam - Deputy Director (Standing) of the University Alumni Liaison Board - outlined several key events that the University Alumni Liaison Board expects alumni generations to participate in, such as: Contributing and participating in the "Ngày Người Nhân văn xây dựng ĐH Xanh" program (August 2022), the Opening Ceremony and inauguration of the Anh Duong Lake Park (October 2022), and the Gala connecting Alumni and partners (November 2022)... He also emphasized the consolidation of Alumni Liaison Boards for faculties and departments between June and September of this year to ensure the University's approval of personnel.
In the Discussion and contributions section, the Conference received 16 ideas from 18 alumni representing various faculties and departments. Specifically, the ideas and proposals revolved around issues such as: Establishing the University Alumni Fund, alumni involvement in recruitment, guiding and supporting alumni in document verification, landscaping the university campus, building a forum to connect generations of University of Literature alumni, strengthening the organization of faculty/department Alumni Liaison Boards, developing the Green University brand, building an alumni tradition corner, and organizing tours for alumni to visit the Thu Duc campus...
In general, with the ideas presented, the representatives of the Alumni Liaison Boards from the faculties and departments all affirmed their commitment to supporting and walking alongside the University in its upcoming activities.

Dr. Ho Minh Quang - Representative of the Oriental Studies faculty, presented an idea to build a program connecting couples who are "Nhân Văn" alumni.
Dr. Pham Tan Ha - Vice President in charge of alumni affairs, expressed: “Although the activities of the University Alumni Liaison Board are still modest and in their initial steps, I believe that if there is more collective effort from each person, even if small, then surely future activities will be stronger and will create higher connectivity and spread.”

Addressing the concerns regarding the difficulties students face when entering the autonomy phase, Ms. Huynh Quan Thu - alumna of the Literature faculty - empathized and hoped that alumni would join hands with the University to support subsequent generations. Notably, she decided to donate a full scholarship worth 60 million VND for disadvantaged new students of the 2022 cohort within the framework of the "Khuyến học - Khuyến tài" (Encouraging Education - Encouraging Talent) program conducted by the University. The entire auditorium applauded in appreciation of Ms. Huynh Quan Thu's noble gesture.
Closing the Conference, Dr. Huynh Thanh Lap - Director of the University Alumni Liaison Board - said he would record the contributions and proposals from the alumni. At the same time, the Director of the University Alumni Liaison Board stated that together with the University leadership, they would promote and prepare to implement the ideas contributed during the conference.
