Exchange program with the Chinese Naval delegation: strengthening connection and mutual understanding between the youth of the two countries
On July 07, 2026, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City hosted a welcoming and exchange program for the Chinese Naval delegation in a solemn, intimate, and open atmosphere. The program served as an occasion to enhance exchange and mutual understanding between the youth of Vietnam and China, while contributing to fostering the friendship between the peoples of the two countries through educational and cultural exchange activities.
The program was attended by Mr. Tu Chau, Deputy Consul General of China in Ho Chi Minh City; Colonel Lan Thien, Head of the Chinese Naval delegation, along with officers, trainees, and members of the delegation. Representing the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Luu Van Quyet, Vice President of the University; leadership of the Office of External Relations and Research Affairs; leadership of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, Faculty of History and International Relations, Faculty of Chinese Linguistics and Literature, along with lecturers and students from these units.
Prior to this, representatives of the Chinese Naval delegation and the University leadership held a working meeting. Both sides expressed their joy at the opportunity to meet and exchange, and emphasized the significance of strengthening connection activities between the younger generations of the two countries. This was not only an occasion to share cultural values, traditions, and the learning environment of each side, but also contributed to building trust, understanding, and friendship between the youth of Vietnam and China.

Speaking at the program, Colonel Lan Thien, Head of the Chinese Naval delegation, introduced the visit to Vietnam by the Chinese Naval fleet and expressed his expectation that the exchange activities would contribute to enhancing understanding between the youth of the two countries.

The highlight of the program was the vibrant exchange and discussion between the delegates and students. Questions and shares regarding culture, life, the process of studying and training, as well as experiences in the university environment created an open, intimate, and sincere atmosphere. Through these conversations, students had more opportunities to broaden their knowledge, practice intercultural communication skills, and improve their awareness of the role of the young generation in promoting exchanges, cooperation, and strengthening the friendship between the two countries.
With the orientation of internationalizing education, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities always focuses on creating a dynamic learning environment, encouraging students to participate in international exchange activities, thereby developing foreign language proficiency, integration skills, and a global citizen spirit. The exchange program with the Chinese Naval delegation continues to be one of the meaningful activities, contributing to strengthening people-to-people exchange, connecting the youth, and expanding cooperative and friendly relations between Vietnam and China.
The program concluded in an intimate and open atmosphere.
