On the morning of July 12, 2026, a humanitarian blood donation program took place at the Royal Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate the birthday of King Maha Vajiralongkorn of Thailand and look towards the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand (1976–2026). The program was organized by the Royal Thai Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City in coordination with the Red Journey Project and the Thai Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (ThaiCham Vietnam), attracting the participation of numerous representatives from diplomatic missions, friendship organizations, businesses, and volunteers.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ms. Wiraka Moodhitaporn, Consul General of the Kingdom of Thailand in Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized that the program is not only of humanitarian significance, contributing to saving patients through voluntary blood drops, but also a vivid symbol of friendship, sharing, and cooperation between the people of Thailand and Vietnam. She expressed her hope that community exchange activities will continue to be maintained, contributing to deepening the enhanced Strategic Partnership between the two countries in the new period.
Attending the opening ceremony was Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan – President of the Vietnam – ASEAN Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City (VAFA), Head of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City. In the role of connecting people-to-people exchanges, the Vietnam – ASEAN Friendship Association in Ho Chi Minh City always accompanies diplomatic representative agencies and partners in implementing cultural, educational, and social responsibility cooperation activities, contributing to strengthening friendship between Vietnam and ASEAN countries, especially Thailand.
Responding to the program, students majoring in Thai Studies, Faculty of Oriental Studies, actively participated in voluntary blood donation. For them, this is not only a charitable activity for the community but also an opportunity to demonstrate a spirit of social responsibility, spread humanistic values, and contribute to cultivating the Vietnam – Thailand friendship through practical actions.
The humanitarian blood donation program concluded in a warm, solidary, and sharing atmosphere, continuing to affirm the role of people's diplomacy in connecting the community, promoting cooperation, and deepening the traditional friendly relationship between Vietnam and Thailand, aiming towards a cohesive and sustainably developed ASEAN Community.
