Student Association of the Faculty of Oriental Studies leads the "Indonesia International Team" in the 2026 Green Summer Campaign
On the morning of July 12, 2026, the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City held the Launching Ceremony of the 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign at the Linh Xuan campus, with the participation of over 1,000 volunteers from 31 teams. The teams will carry out tasks in wards, communes, and special zones in Ho Chi Minh City, Lam Dong province, Tay Ninh province, Dong Thap province, and Vinh Long province.
This year, the Student Association of the Faculty of Oriental Studies was assigned by the Student Union of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City to be in charge of the "Indonesia International Team," which will operate in Bau Lam commune, Ho Chi Minh City (formerly part of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province). This is the second time the Student Association of the Faculty of Oriental Studies has been assigned to lead an international team.
The Indonesia International Team at the 2026 Green Summer Campaign Launching Ceremony
The Indonesia International Team carrying out tasks in Bau Lam commune consists of 39 volunteers, including 24 students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City and 15 Indonesian students from Jenderal Soedirman University (UNSOED), Purwokerto, and the University of Mataram (UNRAM), West Nusa Tenggara. This is the second time Jenderal Soedirman University in Purwokerto has sent students to participate in the Green Summer Volunteer Campaign at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City. The Indonesian volunteers will carry out tasks alongside volunteers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City in Bau Lam commune from July 13 to July 27, and will subsequently have a one-week practical experience at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City and several historical sites in the city center. Jenderal Soedirman University and the University of Mataram are among the regular partners of the Faculty of Oriental Studies. In the near future, these two universities will implement student and faculty exchange activities, research cooperation, and international publications with the Faculty of Oriental Studies and other units of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City.

The Indonesian volunteers were very excited during the Launching Ceremony of the 2026 Green Summer Volunteer Campaign at the Linh Xuan campus. On this occasion, the Indonesian volunteers also toured the Linh Xuan campus of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City. On July 13, 2026, the Indonesian volunteers will depart for Bau Lam commune to carry out activities with volunteers from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City and local youth.
