Students and lecturers of Indonesian Studies receive scholarships from the Government of the Republic of Indonesia for the 2026-2027 academic year
Every year, the government of the Republic of Indonesia offers numerous scholarship programs for Vietnamese students and youth to study the Indonesian language, Indonesian culture, and other majors, aiming to introduce the country of Indonesia as well as strengthen friendly and diplomatic relations between the two nations.
This year, many students and lecturers from the Indonesian Studies program, Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City applied for scholarship programs for the 2026-2027 academic year. After the selection process, the government of the Republic of Indonesia announced that 05 students and 01 lecturer from the Indonesian Studies program were awarded scholarships from 03 different programs. 04 students were selected for the Darmasiswa scholarship program to study the Indonesian language for one year. These 04 students will be awarded scholarships to study at the State University of Malang (UM), Sanata Dharma University (USD), Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), and Diponegoro University (UNDIP). 01 student was selected for the Indonesian Arts and Culture Scholarship (BSBI) program. This student is fully funded by the government of the Republic of Indonesia to study traditional Indonesian arts and perform in several major cities.
In addition to the 05 students above, this year 01 lecturer from the Indonesian Studies program was also awarded a doctoral scholarship by the government of the Republic of Indonesia under the KNB scholarship program. This lecturer will study Linguistics at Sebelas Maret University in Surakarta city.
Over the past time, these scholarship programs have brought many benefits to students and lecturers, not only helping to improve Indonesian language proficiency but also helping them gain profound insights into the people and culture of Indonesia. Furthermore, these scholarship programs serve as a commitment from the Indonesian government to strengthening the friendly and diplomatic relations between the two countries.
