Faculty of Oriental Studies attends Study in Malaysia Fair 2026: Opening opportunities for Asian Studies graduate students to explore "Truly Asia"

On the morning of August 2, 2026, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Phan Thi Hong Xuan – Dean of the Faculty of Oriental Studies, University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Viet Nam National University Ho Chi Minh City attended the Study in Malaysia Fair 2026 at Caravelle Saigon Hotel. The program was organized by the Consulate General of Malaysia in Ho Chi Minh City, the Ministry of Higher Education of Malaysia, and Education Malaysia Ho Chi Minh City, with the participation of many leading Malaysian universities.

The fair brought together prestigious educational institutions such as the University of Nottingham Malaysia, University Malaysia Sabah (UMS), Heriot-Watt University Malaysia, HELP University, INTI International University, Asia Pacific University (APU), MILA University, and many other international training schools and institutes. Besides program introduction sessions, the event also featured seminars on career orientation, educational investment opportunities, and ASEAN cultural exchange activities.

For the Faculty of Oriental Studies, this was not only an occasion to expand the international cooperation network but also an opportunity to learn about training, research, and academic exchange programs suitable for the development orientation of the Asian Studies field. Malaysia – a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, and multi-religious nation – is considered a "living laboratory" of multiculturalism, integration, and sustainable development in the ASEAN region.

Through connecting with Malaysian universities, the Faculty expects to open up more opportunities for students and graduate students in Asian Studies in academic exchange, research, internship, and short-term study activities. This will be a favorable condition for students and trainees to directly experience the social life, culture, and education of Malaysia – a "Truly Asia," where the Malay, Chinese, and Indian civilizations converge and intersect along with many indigenous communities.
